BOOK for January...
Do you ever sense that there’s far more to prayer, and to God’s vision for your life, than what you’re experiencing? It’s time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker—a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayers for his people. What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around? Sharing inspiring stories from his own experiences as a circle maker, Mark Batterson will help you uncover your heart’s deepest desires and God-given dreams and unleash them through the kind of audacious prayer that God delights to answer.

Grafted In the Jewish Olive Tree and the chapter: The Mosaic Covenant
Chapter 3
I love this story about Moses who as a baby not only escapes Pharaoh's decree to have all sons born of Hebrew women killed but God makes it so the very man who decreed the killings would inadvertently raise the one escapee baby, when Pharaoh’s own daughter rescues the baby from the reeds and raises him. Get this – What does Pharaoh’s daughter name the boy? “MOSES” from a Hebrew root meaning “to draw out.”
This was the first I had heard of the meaning of the name Moses.
Later we see God’s victory and situation turn around on Pharaoh when Moses fulfills his name “to draw out” when God has him do just that with all of God’s people right out from under Pharaoh. Who can out maneuver God? It makes me awe filled and respectfully fearful of him. His love is greater than we could possibly comprehend.
“Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face.” — Deuteronomy 34:10
