Here are some of the symptoms that you may be able to relate to: Do you crave your phone and the sense of connection it offers when you are away from it? Do you find yourself unconsciously reaching for, touching, or handling your phone? Do you instantly grab your phone the second you hear a notification or get a text message? Do you set rules or limits with your tech or gaming usage, playing longer or more frequently than intended? Do you skip or neglect self-care? (I.E: eating, bathing cleaning, exercising, classes, job, etc) due to text/gaming usage? Do you feel irritable or restless when away from it for periods of time? Have you ever sworn off a game, uninstalled it but returned to it later? Do you relive technology or gaming experiences or think about future ones? When anxious, upset or depressed, do you soothe yourself with tech use/games. or make plans to? Do you continue to use technology or gaming despite adverse life circumstances? T.A.G. is a not-for-profit 12 step recovery support group which started one month before Covid in Calgary Alberta. We are independent & therefore not affiliated with any organization however T.A.G does suggest that Jesus Christ is the ultimate higher power, leaving the final choice up to each participant.
