ReWilding Through Restoration Walking Tour

October 7, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

| $7

Riparian areas exist along river and creek banks and are essential to a healthy and diverse ecosystem. The ReWilding Through Restoration program is a great way to help “rewild” riparian areas by bringing them back to a more natural state. In recent years, the Alberta Riparian Habitat Management Society (Cows and Fish) and the Friends of Fish Creek conducted a study to determine the health of the creek that runs long the Fish Creek valley. Join us on October 7 for the ReWilding through Restoration Walking Tour in Fish Creek to increase your knowledge of the area between Bridge 11 and the Bow River. Learn about some of the issues facing the park today, such as invasive non-native plants and the use of undesignated trails by park visitors, and the Friends’ efforts to reduce the subsequent effects. Whether you visit the park regularly, occasionally, or have yet to visit this cherished natural area, the ReWilding Through Restoration Walking Tour is sure to be informative and fascinating!

Lead and presented by Drew McKibbon, Fish Creek Provincial Park Interpreter
