Music for Minds Benefit Concert for Mental Health
April 11, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm| $20.00
Music for Minds is a benefit concert to raise money and awareness for mental health and will occur at Western Canada High School in the main gym on April 11th from 7 pm – 9 pm as part of an initiative from the Interact Club. Tickets are only $20 in advance and can be purchased online on eventbrite, or they are $30 at the door. 5 local Calgary artists that are a fusion of folk, indie and rock music, have donated their time to perform at the concert. These artists include I Am The Mountain, Matt Blais, Brett McCrady, The Heirlooms, and Yvette, and they are all incredibly talented! There will also be 2 speakers from CMHA Calgary speaking about mental health and their work at CMHA Calgary. As well, Little Rock Printing has kindly donated all of our print materials for the concert and an anonymous donor has donated the use of a bunch of sound equipement and a stage so that this concert will run amazingly! We also have sponsors such as Pepsi and Fiasco Gelato donating items for our concession. We have 500 tickets to sell to raise a total of $10,000 and also have an online donation form for those that want to donate a bit more than the cost of the $20 ticket or can’t make the concert but still want to support the cause and the event. The entirety of the event is student-run, and the idea for the event was proposed by Allie da Silva because she has a crazy passion for music and for giving back to the community and wanted to do a combination of both in a big way!
