East Coast Exploration – Newfoundland

November 22, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

| Free

Presented by Julia Millen, Acting Community & Partner Relations Team Lead – Alberta Environment and Parks.

One the eastern edge of North America exists a storied and mysterious island known as Newfoundland. For hundreds of years, lighthouses along the island’s rugged and unforgiving coastline guided seafarers to this hospitable land – the most historic of Canadian settlements, with its own distinct culture and unique heritage. Newfoundland is comprised of breathtaking natural vistas, sweeping barrens, boreal forests, tuckamore, ancient rock formations and diverse wildlife populations of seabirds, moose, caribou, and whales. Julia Millen, Alberta Parks Acting Community & Partner Relations Team Lead, has recently returned from Newfoundland and is looking forward to sharing her recent east coast adventures, in Fish Creek. “Stay where you’re to ‘til I comes where you’re at…” Join Julia on November 22 to learn the meaning behind this Newfoundland expression, and much more about this distinctive province!

This presentation is free to Friends Members and $5 for non-members.
