Heavenly Father, open our hearts to the silent presence of the spirit of your Son. Lead us into that mysterious silence where your love is revealed to all who call …Come, Lord Jesus.

Silence means letting of thoughts. Stillness means letting go of desire. Simplicity means letting of self-analysis. (Simple isn’t easy).

We meditate in order to take the attention off ourselves. Jesus said: “Leave self behind”. In the Christian tradition, contemplation is seen as a grace and as a reciprocal work of love. Not surprisingly, then, if we find we become more loving people as a result of meditating this will express itself in our relationships, our works and our sense of service especially to those in any kind of need.

Andy Jackson has been meditating for the past 30 years. He began by taking the meditation class offered by Engeline Piet at the FCJ Centre, and has meditated weekly with her ever since. He also completed the teaching meditation course offered by the World Community for Christian Meditation also offered at the FCJ Centre. He has a master’s degree in education and was a teacher and administrator for many years.

Florence Dickson life has been enriched by a daily meditation practice of over 30 years under the guidance of Engeline Piet. She believes that spiritual growth and personal transformation begins when we learn to “be still”, meditate on Scriptures, and connect with God in spirit and truth. Florence loves to combine the Scriptures and Biblical principle along with Christian meditation to promote a greater awareness of God. Florence completed the Teacher Training course offered by the World Community for Christian Meditation at the School of Christian Meditation.
