Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park

Castle Provincial Park and Castle Wildland Provincial Park combine to make a breathtaking land of natural wonder in the Rocky Mountains southwest of Calgary. Castle Wildland covers an area of approx. 797 km2 and Castle Provincial Park to the north east of the Wildland covers 255 km2. The Castle Parks will receive $3 million in funds from the provincial government for backcountry huts, trail development and other facilities to help preserve these parks and increase tourism. Join Julie MacDougall, Senior Parks Planner with Alberta Environment and Parks, to learn about the rational for the establishment of these Provincially Protected parks, and an overview of the conservation, wildlife and ecological values of this truly majestic area in south west Alberta.
