With her down-to-earth style, Mel Risdon brings a balance to the Morning Show as co-host on 88.9 Shine FM.  From games to prizes to uplifting conversation, it’s evident that she loves to make people smile.

Mel is no stranger to the Calgary airwaves; she started her on-air career in this city several years ago. When she joined the Shine FM team in 2010 it was a very personal decision. She has always been a communicator and long wanted to use her gifts in a medium centered on Jesus. This is the perfect fit where Mel is at in her life. She has two children, a boy and a girl, and her husband James is a great dad. She keeps busy with her family and her family business, Melrose Kids Inc.

Co-hosting the morning show with Mountain Mike weekdays from 6-9am, you’ll hear Mel talk about issues that are impacting families and things that make her laugh. Plus you can star in the show by calling in and giving your two cents on any of the day’s subjects.
