Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies
“The New Book of Whole Grains” by Marlene Anne Bumgarner
1 ½ cup brown sugar
1 cup margarine, butter or vegetable oil
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp molasses
2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
1 ½ tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 12-ounce package choc chips
Preheat oven to 375 F. Cream sugar and margarine; add vanilla, eggs, and molasses and beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda, and salt, pressing out lumps. Stir into sugar mixture; add chocolate chips and raisins and blend. Add milk if you want a thinner batter. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
