This is the part where you find out about me….who am I? Why did I choose a radio career? What’s my favourite colour? All that fun stuff…. Who am I? I ask myself that very same question, and I have come to realize that I am a work in progress. (But, aren’t we all?!) Born and raised in Manitoba, I packed up my little truck and dirt bike and moved to Alberta in my early 20’s for a job in Red Deer. (I’ve had a few since then!) The moment I crossed that Alberta border I knew I was “home,” and have considered myself to be an Albertan ever since.
I knew I wanted a career in radio when I was just 12 years old. While driving in the truck with my dad, I heard a local radio personality, and I just knew in that moment, that’s what I would do. I’ve worked in other careers along the way, and in between, but have always been drawn back to my first love. I definitely feel “called” to radio, and I absolutely love what I do. I can’t sing. I can’t play an instrument (yet!), but I can talk.
I have worked in Country, Pop, and Rock radio, but Shine FM is my first Christian Contemporary and I couldn’t be more blessed….it’s pretty sweet at this point in my faith journey to bring who I am and what I do together.
As for my favourite colour, I’m not sure I have one. (Is black a colour?)
I have a variety of interests. I still ride motorcycles….I am the proud owner of a Harley Davidson, but I respect whatever you choose to ride. (Just ride!) I like sports and love the outdoors. I am PADI certified, a 3rd Level Auto-body apprentice, (I love old muscle cars!), and have dabbled in carpentry.
I am happily married, and my wife and I have both learned that the key to marriage (the key to life really!) is putting your relationship with God first. We are thankful for the community of faith around us, and we have been blessed with 5 kids, and 2 grand-babies. (Plus a few fur babies).
I am honoured to be a part of your morning, and hope to bring inspiration to your day….
