Sauerkraut and Vacuuming?

Spinach may be the broom of the stomach, but sauerkraut is the vacuum cleaner.
Pork Chops with Sauerkraut, with Apple Flourish
First, heat some
olive oil and caramelize some chopped onion.
Brown your seasoned (salt & pepper) pork
chops in the same pan.
Pour in sauerkraut and all its juices in a slow cooker and place the browned pork chops on top. Turn on low heat and cook for 6-8 hours, until the meat is falling off the bone. Sometimes I like to grate in a little apple. If liquid gets low, add some apple juice or water.
Best to serve the meat and cabbage with a pile of mashed spuds.
