Do you do Stockings at Christmas?

Many people do. But I bet you don't know where the tradition originates?

It started in Germany and originally the stocking was reserved for gifts for all 5 senses.

For example:

Taste - something to eat like fruit or candy

Sound - a toy that makes noise or some sort of a noise maker.

Visual - something pretty like jewellery or a colouring book

Smell - something fragrant like bubble bath or scented candles

Touch - a soft toy

Kids would use their actual every day socks, but eventually actual Christmas stockings were made.
