**UPDATE**

Hi...Thanks for visiting my Haiti Blog!!

In June, I was privileged to be part of an 8 day visit to Haiti with the good people at COMPASSION CANADA...and man do I have some stories to tell!

Stories of the unbelievable work that Compassion International is doing for kids and parents in Haiti... Stories of our travels through the country, and stories of how YOU can continue to help the children of Haiti!

Remember the 'Bite Back' radiothon we did back in March, where listeners like you pledged money to provide mosquito nets to families in Haiti to help prevent the spread of Malaria?

WELL...I had the privilege of hand-delivering many of those nets to Haitian families!

Let's see some photos!!

A mother named Angelique with her daughter Sylvia receiving a net:

This mother told me that the little guy pictured below was injured in the earthquake... AND has already suffered from Malaria so far in his short life. Thanks to your donation, the Mosquito net will go a long way towards making sure that's the ONLY time he and his famly will have to deal with malaria!

This is Marionette who is a mother of three. She told me (through a translator) after receiving her net "I will sleep well at night for the first time now that my kids will be protected from the mosquitos" - - THAT is a perfect example of your donation during our Compassion 'Bite Back' campaign coming full circle!!

We delivered mosquito nets in a 'tent city' in Port Au Prince. This Mom (and her daughter) were very happy to receive theirs!

Here's a few more photos from our trek through Haiti...

Thumbs Up!

Making some new friends...

Playing soccer with the kids and their new socer balls!

Kids waiting to greet us outside of a school

The Presidential Palace in Port Au Prince...or what's left of it following the 2010 earthquake.

More new friends! They were part of Compassion Canada's child sponsorship program!

They take security seriously at grocery stores in Port Au Prince! ("I have a receipt for my granola bars...I promise!!")

Average street Scene in Port Au Prince. Quake damage still very visible.

Ahhh....I'm surrounded!!

More new friends!

Vegetable vendors just outside of Port Au Prince

Typical Haitian meal that we were served: Spicy Goat Creole with fried Plantain & potato salad. Mmm!
